Food safety is incredibly important and using the correct kit is key to ensure that orders arrive at the customer in the best condition possible.

Deliveroo provides all riders with special kit through the Rider Kit Store Shopify. You're always able to purchase additional items free of shipping costs!

Roll-top thermal backpack

A durable, foil-lined food cargo backpack or box. Requirements:

  • minimum internal dimensions: 36cm x 36cm x 43cm
  • at least 1cm of insulating material
  • secure closing mechanism
  • must be clean and hygienic
  • external reflective elements to ensure that it is visible to all road users at all times

Thermal Bag

A foil-lined zip lock thermal bag. Requirements:

  • minimum dimensions: 35cm x 26cm x 35cm
  • must fit inside your external box
  • at least 1cm of insulating material
  • secure zip lock mechanism
  • must be clean and hygienic

Helmet

An undamaged helmet suitable for your vehicle.

Smartphone Support

With a bike mount you can be sure that you can easily read your mobile phone while cycling. 

Jacket

Our rider jacket is made of highly reflective flash material, designed to outline key identifying points of the body – hood, waist, cuffs and shoulders – to ensure you are visible from all angles and to all road users.

FAQ

Safety first! The Kit you use to deliver orders has to meet the safety- and quality standards of Deliveroo. You can read those in our agreement. If you don’t have a Rider Kit at your disposal, there’s the possibility to order it in our Shopify webshop. You can order the basic items (backpack, thermal bag, and jacket) at a discount by using the code you receive in your mailbox once you get to the stage in the application process to order your Rider Kit.



It is not mandatory to order a Rider Kit from Deliveroo, but it does need to comply with the safety- and quality standards of Deliveroo. If you have your own gear, you can have this checked via our Contact Form. It’s important to have at least a backpack, thermal bag and jacket with reflective elements during the deliveries to ensure your health & safety on the road.



Please get in touch with us via our Contact Form and add a few pictures of your damaged item(s). We’ll replace your item for free so you can get back on the road as soon as possible!



Not to worry! You can first check out your Track & Trace code to see where your order is and ask your neighbors whether they might have received it.

  • Your order number
  • The item you would like to exchange
  • Which size you need
  • Your address


It’s yours to keep, so you can do with it whatever you want. No need to send it back to us!



You can decide for yourself which backpack you would like to use during deliveries, as long as it meets the requirements of food and traffic safety. The weight of the bag will vary per order, however, we aim towards a maximum weight of 12 KG. The Deliveroo bag itself weighs 1.96 KG.

We understand that sometimes you may not be able to carry the large thermal backpack (cube) to the restaurant or customer. However, please ensure you still carry your small thermal bag when you are picking up the food from the restaurant and delivering the food to the customer.
